The Network investigates the context affecting children of immigrants and child migrants in their receiving countries, as well as their physical, mental, and socioeconomic outcomes. Announcements Alicia Adsera, Marta Tienda and several other network members presented papers at the European Population Conference in Budapest. Marta Tienda, Andrew Clarke and Mikal Skuterud have begun a new initiative to investigate how literacy, as distinct from years of school completed, is associated with nativity variation in labor market inequality. The Center for Research on Child Wellbeing (CRCW) hosted several visitors: Miriam Evensen and Are Skeie Hermansen from the University of Oslo in Norway and Lisbeth Trille Loft from the University of Copenhagen. The has completed work on a special issue for The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science . The papers were presented at a meeting of the Network in Barcelona, Spain. Visits Between Hubs: April 2014 - Alicia Adsera visited Canada to continue collaboration with Ana Ferrer. April 2014- Melissa Martinson returned to Princeton to complete collaborative research with Marta Tienda. March- April 2014- Kathleen Kiernan from the United Kingdom hub visited CRCW, the United States hub. February 2014 - Andrew Clarke from the Australian hub visited CRCW, the United States hub. August 2013- Wendy Sigle-Rushton visited the US Hub. Recent Events July 2014- Launch of The Child & Family Blog The Jacobs Foundation, The Future of Children (USA) and the Applied Developmental Psychology Research Group at the University of Cambridge (UK) jointly launched The Child & Family Blog . April 1, 2014- EBRD, London. Alicia Adsera and Mariola Pytlikova presented "The Role of Language in Shaping International Migration: Evidence from OECD Countries 1985-2010." January 2014- Marta Tienda participated in a conference on International Comparisions and Measurement Comparability in Studying Wellbeing of Children with Migration Backgrounds at the Russell Sage Foundation.
